This was the first timed I was named captain in a league game for Leicester and I would like to thank the manager for selecting me for the opening game. Leading the team is a role of great responsibility, a role I certainly do not take lightly.
I wished we had also won, but with Dion being sent off early in the game, I guess a draw against West Ham is as good result. It is always difficult playing with 10 players, but this can always happen and you just need to be prepared for it. All the lads gave their best and a little bit more in order to cover Dion’s absence. Sometimes when you are a man down the team gets distracted, but we managed to maintain our focus. We balanced our game and got out of it with our first point for the season, which will keep our morale high for the next game, against Derby County.
